B3- Enterprise skills portfolio

Enterprise skills for pre production planning

Using Initiative
I used my initiative throughout the whole of this unit. For example, I had to apply it when deciding when I would do which blog post, and how long I would spend on each blog post to ensure I had enough time to complete them before the deadline. This was useful for me because it meant that I had enough time to also add to any of my blogs with enough time to spare before the deadline. Using initiative will be a useful enterprise skill for the future, as it will enable me to proceed to do tasks within the time limit given.
Working Independently
Working independently was another enterprise skill I had to use throughout. This was due to the fact that the majority of my blogs were research, and sourcing materials, which can be done independently, so therefore I did not need any teamwork assistance. This is useful for the future, as it shows I can independently complete tasks without the help of others. Nevertheless, i can also work well with others, as said below. This will be good, as it shows future employers that i can work well in both a team and independently.
Self motivation
Self motivation was also applied, as I had to be able to motivate myself to complete the tasks on each blog by a certain time, so that everything was finished by my deadline. I feel like I stuck to this skill very well, and made sure that I had completed each blog post in the time I had given myself. This enterprise skill will be particularly useful for the future, as self motivation is always required within working conditions to complete the tasks set.
Working with others
I believe I worked very well with others when brainstorming ideas, as we were all bouncing ideas off of each other, and compromising who would use what idea. This also made it easier for us, as we didn't have to come up with the ideas all by ourselves, and we could help expand on each others ideas.
Self evaluating to meet demands
Self evaluating to meet demands had to be applied for my creative brief. So i met these demands for my creative brief because I made sure I stuck to what I had wrote down. For example I made sure I had all the equipment that I had listed with me or hired out from school. I again made sure I had a copyright clearance from Netflix so that I will not be copyrighted for my visuals.
This is useful for the future, as i will be able to self evaluate my work, without someone also having to check it, which can be quite time consuming.
Problem solving
Problem solving was another key enterprise skill I used. This was applied when I realised that I did not have a light for when I was filming. This was soon solved by going to my teacher and asking to borrow a light for this occasion.
This skill is similar to using initiative, as it requires you to think, and see what the best solution/ best outcome would be for the situation.
Communication skills
I had to apply written communication skills when writing all my blogs. This was useful because it also helped me when writing my script to film for my youtube video. Communication skills was also used when talking to my group when we were brainstorming for our ideas.
This will be useful, as you need communication skills to be able to communicate and talk to other people, in order to work together.

B2- Pre production planning

B2- Pre production planning

Necessary resources needed for filming
DSLR Camera (good quality picture and sound) - £350
Tripod -£30
Lighting ring -£50
Editing software -£80

The camera will cost the most money because I want one that has a high resolution so that my picture quality is good, and also one that picks up sound well, so I won't have to buy a microphone.
Building mise en scene
High key lighting
No props required - pictures will be edited in the video
Costume- regular clothing
Performance- Bubbly, interesting for audience, straight to the point
Colour- No specific colour scheme

High key lighting will be used, as my video is supposed to be fun and entertaining for my audience and not dark and spooky.
I haven't used any props, as it is only a review channel and therefore only have to edit in the pictures/posters when explaining them.
Regular clothing is used for costumes, and again it is a review channel, so nothing special has to be worn as my audience is not interested in that, only my reviews.
My performance will have to be bubbly and fun to keep my audience interested and entertained, otherwise they wont watch my videos.
Finally, there will not be any specific colour scheme, as the main focus will be on my reviews and what i think about the film/ show.

Non- original materials
Posters of Netflix films and shows
Audio from films and shows
Copyright free music

Cast and presenters
There will only be one presenter/cast which will be me.

Production schedule
I will aim to post at around the start of every month, so that my audience can then watch the movies or shows i recommend to them throughout the month, before I post my next video.
I will only post once a month, as i feel that if i post any more frequent, I will run out of shows and films to review, as Netflix does have limited content.

Contact presenters
My recording date will always be on the 5th of every month, so it gives me times to watch and review the newly released Netflix films and shows. I will edit on the 6th of every month, giving me enough time to edit in the required visuals and audio, ready to be uploaded on the 7th of every month. This means that my audience have a week with the new products out, to test them for themselves, or they could choose to wait until my video is released, and continue watching the ones I recommend from last month.

Script
Hi guys welcome back to my channel, today I will be reviewing the top 10 films and tv shows to watch on Netflix. Bare in mind that this is my own opinion, and am under no promotion of any of these tv shows or films or even Netflix. It is just for entertainment purposes only.

Starting off with the top tv shows, the first one I would recommend is after life. So, after the death of his wife, Tony played by Ricky Gervais contemplated suicide before deciding to say and do anything he wants, no matter the consequences, to punish the world in this dark comedy created.
I personally love this show because it is the perfect mixture of both comedy and realism. It takes how most people feel on a daily basis, but are sometimes too scared to admit and mixes it with the dark humour of Ricky Gervais. So if your looking for either a laugh or a tearjerker, then this is probably the best series for you.
So on a scale of 1-5 laughs, I would probably give after life 4/5 laughs. The only improvement I would suggest is that they release more episodes!

Next is sex education
Sex education is a comedy drama following Socially awkward high school student Otis. Now he may not have much experience in the lovemaking department, but he gets good guidance on the topic in his personal sex ed course -- living with mom Jean, who is a sex therapist. Being surrounded by manuals, videos and tediously open conversations about sex, Otis has become a reluctant expert on the subject. When his classmates learn about his home life, Otis decides to use his insider knowledge to improve his status at school, so he teams with whip-smart bad girl Maeve to set up an underground sex therapy clinic to deal with their classmates' problems. But through his analysis of teenage sexuality, Otis realizes that he may need some therapy of his own.
This is a great coming of age comedy is made especially for teens as it relates very well. Being a teenager myself, I found that many scenes from this series were very relatable for me, which made  it even funnier.
I would rate sex education 4/5 laughs again because there needs to more episodes released!

Thirdly on my list is big mouth
So the plot for big mouth states that Even for a cartoon character, going through puberty isn't easy for a young person. Andrew is learning that first hand as he experiences the nightmare that is growing up in this animated series geared toward adults. Along for the ride are friends Nick and Jessi, who develop a budding romance along the way.
Again this series is a great coming of age comedy, due to its explicit humour and relatableness. The show also never shies away from being gross. There are multiple dancing penises, sperm jokes, porno scenes, and at one point, Jessi literally talks to her vagina. There’s even an entire episode dedicated to talking about a book that turns girls on, which is portrayed most uncomfortably by Jenny Slate‘s instantly lovable Missy. It’s a show that certainly could never exist using real actors, but in its own deeply twisted way, Big Mouth weirdly works. If you can get past the vulgar images of the show’s opening credits, you should be OK with the rest of the show.
This show would definitely get 5/5 laughs.

The punisher is up next. Now this is a superhero/ crime and action genre. Which is not normally the type of genre I go for, but this is definitely an exception. So, After exacting revenge on the people responsible for the deaths of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs deeper than New York's criminal underworld. Now known as the Punisher, he must dig deep into the conspiracy to discover the truth about injustices that affect more than just him and his family. Assisting the vigilante in his quest to fight criminals are best friend Billy Russo, who runs private military corporation Anvil, and former NSA analyst Micro, who shares common enemies with Castle and helps him as part of a so-called marriage of convenience.
The Netflix Punisher series 1 and 2 however, I admit unashamedly, is in my opinion one of the best, most gripping, and well planned / developed stories available right now. The violence is to be expected, but most certainly not the emotionally gripping pain and heartbreak that come with it. Not the anguish or captivating moments of love and (dare I say it) severe loss which pull on heartstrings most viewers tend to hide away when watching pictures moving on a screen.
As an audience member you feel it, the struggle, the betrayal. Each episode takes you on the ride, and does so almost faultlessly, with the violence bringing the audience member to a raw state of external, and even sometimes internal assessment.
So I would also give the punisher 5/5, however I will say that if you are faint hearted this is not the right show for you.

Finally is santa clarita diet. Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant star in this Netflix-original series as married realtors, Sheila and Joel, who are living a quiet life, raising their teenage daughter in Santa Clarita, Calif. Their world unexpectedly changes when Sheila goes through a dramatic transformation that sends her down a road of death and destruction -- but leaves her looking and feeling better than ever.
This show classes as a dark comedy, but you would not think this from watching it. All the actors suit their roles extremely well, which then makes it seem more realistic for us as an audience (apart from the killing and eating people part!)
This show would also get 5/5

Now onto the movies.
The first movie I would recommend Is bright. Set in an alternate world, this 2017 fantasy crime thriller is about a los angels police officer who teams up with a rookie cop in a world of both humans and mythological creatures. Now regardless of what you’ve heard about bright, it is one of the best movies on Netflix, and most of the general public seem to agree.
Overall I would personally give this movie 5/5

Next up is Geralds game. This was released in 2017 and is a psychological thriller based on the Stephen king novel also titled ‘Geralds game’. A woman accidentally kills her husband during a kinky game. Handcuffed to her bed with no hope of rescue, she begins hearing voices and seeing strange visions, and must escape before she goes insane.
I find this movie particularly interesting because it is delightfully gruesome and makes you think of what you would do if you were in the main characters shoes. I also like how the story focuses on how it affects the main character phycologically and shows the different men in her life and their level of abuse. It has good acting I thought the main characters performance as stellar played her part very well and the audience has to rip back the layers of her turmoil and how that affected her life choices later on life. I definitely recommend this movie but DO NOT WATCH if you get scared easily.
This film would get 4/5

Bird box is another film I would recommend. When a mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain -- if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they'll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them -- and complete the trip blindfolded. One of the things I love about this film is that it is gripping, crisp and concise.I think it is one of those movies that is best for individual (or at home) viewing experience. It was an all out Sandra Bullock movie and she doesn't miss a beat! Once you give in to the notion of this ominous unseen evilness along with assumptions of its powers and limitations the movie is pretty interesting.
I would also give this film 4/5

The meyrowitz stories was released in 2017, and is a comedy drama starring adam sandler, ben stiller, emma Thompson and dustin Hoffman. The story revolves around 3 siblings along with their interactions and their aging father. It is a great mixture of hilarious acting followed by superb directing skills. The only improvement I would make to this movie is that it doesn’t drag out for so long, as it can be quite slow which can be off putting for some people, leaving the film with negative feedback. Therefore I will rate this movie 3/5
Finally, is the fundamentals of caring. Released in 2016, the comedy drama starring paul rudd as a retired writer who becomes the caretaker of a sarcastic wheelchair bound teenage boy played by craig Roberts. Together they set out on a cross country road trip to see famous roadside attractions and to also meet the boys father. So if your in the mood for a heartwarming movie. This is definitely for you. What I love about this movie is that it manages to be funny despite of all the sadness surrounding it. Everyone played their part to the fullest. The story was a bit cliched at certain times but it doesn't take the warmth from the movie. Other than these, this movie is very beautiful. The cinematography is breathtaking.I would rate this movie 5/5. So there we have it for this months episode of movie night. Make sure to leave a like and subscribe if you want more content.

B2- Sourcing materials and content

Creating visuals

I chose this as my logo for my product, as although it is simple, it does give off the impression that my channel involves movies. Which is what i want to get across to my audience.

Sound effects
I chose these sound effects to make me video more entertaining, and to give my audience a bit of a break from listening to my voice.

Downloading fonts
Again this font was chosen, as it looks fun, and fits in with the theme of my video very well.
Video footage

B2- Time management

When writing my statement of intention, I had to manage my time effectively. My statement of intention blog post probably took the longest amount of time, so therefore I had to make sure I still had enough time to finish my other blogs before the deadline. Due to this, I gave myself 4 days to complete this blog post.

For the pre - production blog posts, these were quite easy to write, as the tasks required very little information. So this task was completed within a day. This made it easier for me, as it meant that another blog post was done.

For pre -production sourcing materials, it was also an easy blog post. This is because most of it was recording and downloading sound effects and visuals. This didnt take long for me to do, as I had already written the script for my video, and downloaded the sound effects I required.

Preparation of materials and content was again a very easy post, as all I had to do was screengrab pictures of my folders which contained the visuals and sounds for my video. This task was completed within an hour.

Lastly, was the considerations appropriate to the sector. I gave myself at least a day to complete this post, as I had to find the right copyright clearances, to make sure I wouldn't be copyrighted for any of my visuals or music. I also had to email the creators, if there was no copyright, to make sure I was permitted to use it.

I prioritized my blogs, by seeing how much work i had to do on each post, and deciding from that what blog i would complete first.

B2 -Considerations appropriate to the product and sector

Youtube rules and regulations
- Nudity or sexual content
- Harmful or dangerous content
-Hateful content
- Violent or graphic content
- Harassment or cyberbullying
- Spam, misleading metadata and scams
- Threats
- Copyright
- Privacy
- Impersonation
- Child safety

Because my youtube video is a film/tv review channel, it will adhere to all of Youtube's rules and regulations. The only rules it may cross is the copyright claim, however i will have to contact Netflix and ask for permission to use clips from their shows and movies.

Dafont.com copyright claim

I chose to use this font, as in my opinion it is quite fun and not very serious, which is what I am aiming for in my video, as it is a review channel, and i want it to be fun and entertaining for my audience.

B1- statement of intention

Statement of intention

My idea for a new digital media service is going to be a new youtube channel where I review/ rate and recommend films and tv shows on Netflix, aimed at a specific genre. The videos will be published monthly, and I will also give them a rating score, based on the different categories I name. I will make it different by using a direct mode of address and sitting in front of the camera when reviewing rather than just using a voiceover and putting in visuals over the top.
It will adhere to the demands of my creative brief because it will still be targeted at the age range 11-60 and the same psychographics & geodemographics.
I have decided to create a youtube channel, as i believe youtube videos are more effective compared to podcasts, as people can visually see things rather than just hearing them. I chose to review Netflix's products as they are a well known company, with millions of subscriptions, however I always find that when I go on there, I struggle to find a show or film to watch.

I believe that my product will be quite successful with the public, as not only will it be useful to the public, but it will also benefit Netflix, as they will receive more customers. This allows Netflix to gain an excellent reputation, which will attract customers and allow them to receive more sales.

I will require a good quality camera, alongside a tripod and lighting ring. As well as, editing software to be able to edit my videos. I may also need a copyright claim from Netflix, to be able to put pictures of their films and tv shows in my videos. So overall, to be able to film and record my videos I will need around £500 to buy the equipment. However, I wont have to hire cast or crew, as I will be able to easily film and edit the videos myself. This is because the tripod will be able to hold up my camera, and I can start recording the video when i'm ready and edit out the bits I do not need.
I chose to give myself a £500 budget, so I can buy an expensive camera with good quality picture and sound, which then means i wont have to invest in a mic. Then i can buy a cheaper tripod as they are not that expensive  and neither is a lighting ring.
